Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: Writer in Residence at Theatre Clwyd
Description: The Writer in Residence opportunity at Theatre Clwyd will offer four weeklong residencies in Wales in 2017. Selected writers will receive a bursary to cover costs, accommodation in Wales, and the opportunity to develop work as part of the Theatre Clwyd community.
So, what’s so great about it? While London has an incredibly rich theatre ecology, it’s a big mistake to look past the brilliant work happening across the UK. Since taking over as Artistic Director at Theatre Clwyd, Tamara Harvey has worked to make the theatre a home for new writers, and this is a key part of that initiative. This is a great way to get dedicated space for your writing, without the isolation that can sometimes entail. You’ll have the opportunity to watch rehearsals and to get feedback on your work, including the potential to work with the actors performing there. You’ve got until Monday 28 November to get your application in!
Please note, we’ve posted this for your convenience and we’re not affiliated with the organisers of the opportunity.
