The Liverpool Hope Playwriting Prize is now open for entries of comedy scripts

£10,000 could be yours! Do you have the winning comedy script?

The Liverpool Hope Playwriting Prize is the second largest national playwriting competition, and provides a great platform for new comedy writing across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Scripts must be original and unperformed, and they encourage writers of varying experience – from novice first-timers to professional playwrights – to enter their work.

The Prize is judged anonymously, meaning the reading and judging panels do not know the identities of the writers until a winner has been chosen.

Since 2015, The Liverpool Hope Playwriting Prize success stories include winners and highly commended writers who go on to have their plays commissioned at theatres and auditoriums across the UK. You can read more about previous Prize winners here.

Unfortunately not. This was taken from their website:

The competition is open to anyone resident in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, British Overseas Territory or with a British Forces Post Office address who is 18 years of age or over on the date of submission of their entry.
