Theatre Makers / Writers / Storytellers, Ad Infinitum

Ad Infinitum is inviting applications from theatre makers, writers and storytellers, to collaborate on our latest project, working with older adults experiencing loneliness. This is part of Ad Infinitum’s activities during lockdown and a wider project exploring elderly care in the UK.

The project (title TBC) will be delivered between March and May 2021 as a targeted response to the third lockdown and the ever-growing crisis of isolation.

The project will be carried out in partnership with Corn Exchange Newbury and Bristol Older People’s Forum.

We will collaborate with three artists to develop a structure for a creative story exchange. Each artist will be working one-to-one with four older adults living at home on their own, embarking on a creative journey exploring the joys of storytelling. Through weekly phone conversations spread across five weeks they will write a story together, led by the older adult’s ideas, interests and needs.

At the end of the project we will share the stories on our online platforms and in print.

The engagement would be for 9 working days across March, April and May. Please see our website for full details of the project and the scope of the work.

We will pay a daily rate of £175 (total fee £1,575).

Three theatre makers, writers or storytellers, of any age and background, with at least 3 years of working professionally in their field. Experience of leading engagement and community work is required. You will need to have the ability to work with vulnerable people with sensitivity, and be an excellent listener. You will also need to manage your own workload and be able to work both collaboratively and independently.

We actively encourage people whose backgrounds, lived experience and skills are underrepresented in the sector to join us and positively impact our working practice. We are particularly keen to receive applications from people of colour and disabled people.

Please visit our website to complete the application form. Applications will close on Tuesday 2 March at 10am.

Deadline: 2 March 2021 at 10am
