About the workshop: Join the writer and director of new play Assata Taught Me, Kalungi Ssebandeke and Lynette Linton, to explore their creative partnership and how they collaborated and made this new play.

Kalungi and Lynette will take you through their journey and then answer questions at The Gate Theatre, Notting Hill,  on what it takes to stage theatre.

Lynette Linton is a director, and playwright. She trained on the StoneCrabs Young Directors Course where she was also awarded the Jack Petchey award. She is also co-founder of production company Black Apron Entertainment and the current associate director of the Gate Theatre.

Kalungi Ssebandeke is an actor and playwright, Assata Taught Me is his first full length play. His other written works include View of Her Own Beauty, My Darling Wife, The Star and Raceless.  As an actor he performed last year at the Gate in Image of an Unknown Young Woman.
