New members’ resources and updated website!

We’re super excited to let you know that we’ve updated our members’ site and made it easier to use! This is work in progress and we’re currently busy building up our member resource maximise the support we can give you on your playwriting journey!

We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us so far by becoming members; you’ve allowed us to continue the work we do and to grow our organisation – the more support we get, the more we can do for writers, so we’re really grateful to each and every one of you. And, if you haven’t signed up yet, please find out more here and join our ever growing community of playwrights!

So what’s on offer for members?

Aside from a 20% discount on our Script Consulting Service and workshops, we’ve got a host of useful online resources currently available for our members. Courses currently live on the site include The Submissions Checklist, Writing in Regional Dialect, The Redrafting Toolkit and masterclasses in Structure,Writing Monologues, and Self Promotion. Each year, we also run a January playwriting challenge, WrAP,  where members are supported in writing their play in a month, through – you can still get access to last years’ writing prompts over on the members’ site.

Our members are also invited to participate in Play Club, our online book club, where writers can submit a short play in response to a chosen text (selected plays will be performed as rehearsed readings at an event later in the year). In addition to this, we run regular writers’ meetups which include the chance to share your work for feedback. You can get access to all of this for less than £4 per month.

What’s coming up?

We’ve just launched a new resource called the Playwrights’ Library, where we’ll be listing our top playwriting books – keep visiting the site to watch this list grow! We’re also working on creating a directory of theatres which accept unsolicited scripts. And in terms of online learning, our next big thing will be a downloadable Self-producing Workbook, which will be a complete guide to producing your own work! We’ve also got lots of new resources, events and workshops in the pipeline – all with a focus on helping emerging playwrights to develop their craft and empowering you  to get your work out there!
