Opportunities: Our Pick of the Week – The BRIT School and The Bridge company seeking playwright (paid)

Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.

This week’s pick: The BRIT School and The Bridge company seeking playwright (paid)

Description: This opportunity offers the playwright an opportunity spend 1 day per week workshopping or in rehearsals with students at the BRIT School, culminating in London run and Festival performances.  The writer will be paid in line with ITC recommendations for a 70 minute play.

So, what’s so great about it? If you’re interested in making new work – particularly with/for emerging artists – this is a fantastic opportunity to embed yourself with a talented performing company and get to work in depth on developing the play.  Not only will you be paid properly for your work, you’ll also get to see your show performed in  the equivalent of a month’s run in performance in London and around the UK.  You have until this Friday 26 June to get your application in, so get cracking if you’d like to be considered!
